Women Redressal Committee
Shree Sainath College of Pharmacy has constituted the Women Redressal Committee for the academic year 2024–2025 under the leadership of the Head of the Institute to ensure protection for women against sexual harassment in the workplace and to establish measures for preventing and addressing complaints related to such harassment, along with any related or associated matters.

Introduction
Women Redressal Committee is a mandatory body for prevention of sexual harassment of women at the workplace as per the Sexual Harassment at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 to deal with complaints of sexual harassment of women at the workplace.
Objectives
The Women Redressal Committee ensures a safe, secure, and dignified working environment for employees, particularly women, by providing a formal mechanism for reporting and resolving complaints of sexual harassment. It promotes gender equality and reinforces the institution’s commitment to ethical conduct and workplace respect.
- Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for students and staff free from sexual harassment.
- Prevent incidents of sexual harassment through awareness programs, orientation sessions, and policy implementation.
- Provide a fair, impartial, and confidential mechanism for receiving and addressing complaints of sexual harassment.
- Safeguard the aggrieved person from victimization, retaliation, or discrimination during and after the inquiry process.
- Ensure the institution complies with the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
Key Functions of the Committee
The Women Redressal Committee performs several important roles to uphold its objectives:
- Receive and register complaints of sexual harassment or discrimination.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect privacy of both the complainant and respondent.
- Complete a fair and impartial inquiry into complaints within prescribed timelines.
- Follow principles of natural justice while investigating.
- Interview parties involved and examine evidence objectively.
- Submit inquiry report with findings and recommendations to the college authority.
- Recommend disciplinary actions if allegations are substantiated.
- Conduct regular awareness programs, workshops, and sensitization sessions for students and staff on gender sensitivity, sexual harassment, and rights under the law.
